Communications

This CD-ROM is one of five titles in the Emergency Planner's Companion Series. Its primary audience includes planners involved in the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP), but it will also be useful to others involved in developing plans for coordinating resources and implementing response procedures for fast-moving emergencies. The material is based on recommendations of the 1996 CSEPP Planning Guidance and addresses communication issues involved in preparing for a coordinated response among agencies responsible for protecting the public from the consequences of a chemical warfare agent release. The course will prepare emergency planners to develop plans that help officials:

  • prepare and assess emergency plans relating to the emergency communications infrastructure,
  • revise existing emergency plans on communications support networks and public alert and notification systems, and
  • recognize the human and organizational factors that contribute to effective emergency warning and communications.
